Moving-day checklist

The bill of lading, the inventory, and the photo of the truck’s USDOT are more useful on moving day than a motivational quote.

Before the truck arrives

Match the crew’s paperwork to the estimate: legal name, USDOT, and services. Photograph the USDOT on the door.

Walk the inventory. Note pre-existing damage in writing. Do not sign a blank inventory.

At delivery

Know what the estimate type implies about collection at delivery. For a qualifying interstate non-binding estimate, the 110% provision may be relevant — with the caveats on the Quote Check page.

Reserve the right to note exceptions on the inventory before the crew leaves.
